Prochiron

Prochiron
   A handbook of law published in 907 by Leo VI (q.v.) that revised the Epanagoge (q.v.). Its purpose was to provide a brief overview of the laws that governed Byzantium (q.v.). It proved popular until the end of the empire, and its translation into Slavonic was treated with great authority by the Bulgarians, Serbs, and Rus (qq.v.).
